Old Stove Brewing shares some details about its plans in Ballard

As we reported previously, Seattle’s Old Stove Brewing is opening a new location in the Ballard neighborhood. Most recently, the building was home to Lagunitas Brewing, the Lagunitas Brewing Company Seattle TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary, which closed in January. Old Stove Brewing has now shared more information about its plans at 1550 NW 49th St, Seattle, WA 98107.

They’ve already painted the building, which was brightly adorned in Lagunitas’ colors and branding. The initial plan, first and foremost, is to get the brewery up and running in the new location. As we understand it, this will involve installing some new equipment and also utilizing some of the brewery equipment Lagunitas left behind.

Once the beer is flowing, they’ll focus on getting the taproom and beer garden open. If you’ve been there, you know that this is a large space inside and out. They’ve yet to announce a timeline for any of this. The expansion/addition will not impact Old Stove Brewing’s other two locations (Pike Place Market and Ship Canal).

“We are excited to announce that Old Stove Brewing Company is expanding in the Seattle area!” said yesterday’s official announcement on social media. “As we continue to focus on our Pike Place and Ship Canal locations, we are also looking ahead at how we can produce more beer and reach new audiences. So, to support that goal, we recently leased the former Hilliard’s and Lagunitas Brewing Company building in Ballard and intend to turn the space into a production brewery, taproom and outdoor beer garden.”

“This building is well-suited for brewing operations, so we are hopeful that we can be online in the coming months producing all your favorite Old Stove brews. Sometime after that, we anticipate having the taproom and outdoor beer garden up and running, too! Either way, we continue to invite you to share a pint with us at our Pike Place and Ship Canal locations – two amazing spots to enjoy some Old Stove and some fun! More soon! Cheers!”
