Portland's Sasquatch Brewing could be producing beer again with new ownership for the shuttered operation.
Sasquatch owner Tom Sims shared plans in November to shut down Sasquatch's Northwest Portland production facility for beer and cider. However, he held on to his pub and restaurant at 6440 S.W. Capitol Highway.
That business is now under new ownership, according to a post in craft beer blog The New School.
The blog reported that Sims has sold Sasquatch to Nick Scandurro, a brewer with a resume that includes Ecliptic and 13 Virtues, as well as a brewery in his hometown of New Orleans.
He plans to restart beer production at the Southwest location, according to the New School. However, since Sims sold off the location's brewing equipment, he will rely on contract brewing until his able to rebuild the location's brewhouse.
Sasquatch produced 3,000 barrels of beer in 2021, making it the 29th largest craft brewer in Oregon, according to Portland Business Journal research.
